Old Testament Survey 4

Course Overview

The fourth of our five Old Testament classes, covering Ecclesiastes through Lamentations. We’ll be examining the wisdom literature of Solomon and introducing major prophets with a deep dive into the books of Isaiah and Jeremiah, all with the intent to not only understand the Biblical text but also God’s character and the Messianic thread that runs throughout the entire Old Testament.

Before coming to class each week, you will be expected to read books/chapters of the bible as well as chapters in Encountering the Old Testament. When you arrive each week, you will turn in a quiz covering the week’s material, a combination of multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blank, true-or-false, and matching questions. All readings will be supplemented with a lecture and PowerPoint presentation.
