Old Testament Survey 2

Course Overview

This is the second part of our deep dive into the Old Testament series, which will guide you through the entirety of the Old Testament. We will be covering Deuteronomy through First Kings, focusing on the conquest of the promised land, the time of the judges, and the united kingdom under Solomon. We will explore the history, background, and content of these books of the Bible to not only understand the Biblical text but God’s character and Messianic thread (God’s redemptive plan) that runs throughout the Old Testament.

Each week before coming to class, you will read books/chapters of the Bible as well as the chapters in the accompanying text, Encountering the Old Testament. Your teacher will supplement your reading with a PowerPoint presentation and lecture.
